Post: Okay, I've spent quite a bit of time on this collection of scripts. So here's the first serious announcement of my Convmedia project. Essentially, since around 2007 I've been working on a collection of scripts which utilize various common and powerful applications to present a fairly clean, usable CLI interface that allows me to quickly do a lot of tasks, like transcoding audio/video and ripping CDs.

Now, I know you're probably thinking, why do we need yet another collection of such scripts? Well, because I disliked the existing alternatives. In some ways, I took a lot of good ideas from other people and simplified the implementations down to the raw essentials. In doing so, I built some very useful and flexible scripts that do a lot of very common tasks.

Really, the project grew out of my desire to have a simple audio transcoding script, which eventually became more powerful. Then, I wanted the same for video, then I wanted one to handle AviSynth through WINE and so on. Each script in the Convmedia collection was built because I found no other simply and sane alternative.

So, without further ado, head over here to learn more about the scripts included and how to get your hands on these scripts.
